Subject: RE: Re: [EdgeGallery] More Clarifications on Edgegallery
Dear Jasmine-lyy,
Thanks a lot for your reply and clarifying in full details.
I have some more questions as below,
- Is there any roadmap available for upcoming releases or new features?
- Is there any roadmap on development of subscribe app module? Further clarification on step
3.
- Can you please elaborate more on subscribe app module , how it will function?
- Is there any developer guide for further development of Billing related components?
Thanks
Vikash kumar prasad
- Is any real time considerations for running app on Edge node? In other words if what are the implications of running RT(Real
time) application on EdgeGallery node, is the Real Time OS is supported? As we see so far only ubuntu is supported. What is the prospect for running RT applications on EdgeGallery. Any interfaces for extending it to RT application is being in consideration
? Any guaranteed latency is possible on the application running on EdgeGallery? Or you are depending completely on the Kubernetes ?
RE: In
addition to supporting ubuntu, it also supports centos.
Edgegallery Prospects: Rapid integration of applications to provide 5G network capabilities. For network latency issues,
see the mep module.
- Any application stores are publicly available right now (incl China) ? If yes could you please provide more details ?
RE:No
public app store right now.
- Any Billing related components are already developed or in pipeline ? Or any interfaces(API) are defined for custom development?
RE:Edgegallery's
appstore platform provides an ordering function, but this function is currently unavailable. If necessary, customers can conduct secondary development based on this function.

- Any third party edge nodes can be integrated to the edgegallery? If yes what are the requirements from the edge node?
RE:Yes,
any 3rd party edge node can be integrated into the edge library, need to install edgegallery's LCM module.

Hi Kumar,
I can answer part of those questions, and everyone could add more clarification if he has more info.
1.
Generally, EG consider edge node deployed in Edge DC, i.e., physical servers. However, we tried to deploy on routers and it is success. So we do not have thought test of
EG on near edge scenario. If you are interested in this scenarios, I suggest you deploy another system together with EG to support device-level management, i.e, fledge, kubeedge, etc.
2.
We do not have any public store from community. The community focuses on the deliverables of EG codes.
3.
We have a preliminary billing component in EG Store component only support limited functionalities.
4.
We have different deployments around China and some labs in EU. However, the community does not maintain a lab to provide public view of those nodes. They are all deployed
in private labs.
Best,
Gabriel
