I have another question concerning the UPF integration of EdgeGallery.

In the ETSI MEC document “ETSI GS MEC 002 V2.1.1 (2018-10)” there are the requirements 5GCoreConnect-001 until -004 and Framework-06 that are related to the 5g core interaction of the MEC framework.

 

My question is: Are these requirements realized in EdgeGallery?

 

I took a look into the sources of mecm-apprulemanager and saw, that the app rules which would consist of the traffic rules and the dns rules, are stored in a mock database rather than in a real database. Is there any other interface of EdgeGallery to the 5G core which is to be considered during its UPF integration?

I had the same problem. I could resolve it by changing the gid from 1000 to 999. Of course the gid 999 should be unused in the system. The file to be edited is roles/init/tasks/init_offline.yml.

I’m interested in using EdgeGallery. I see that the release 1.5 is published on gitee. I just wanted to know about the current compliance of the release with the ETSI MEC standard. Can you tell me please which of the parts of ETSI MEC standard in the picture below are already realized and which of them are not yet realized?

Victor：the blocks that are marked as light color except 013 ,029, 030 depend on the 5G Core NE, other standards already implemented in EdgeGallery MEP.

 

Do you have a roadmap, how EdgeGallery is planned to be developed in the future?

Victor: others are not decided by the platform.. it depends on the 5G Core itself… so we cannot give the roadmap from EdgeGallery perspective.

In which 5G core UPF’s is EdgeGallery already integrated until now?

Victor: Currently, we already tested with Huawei UPF.

This issue is not specific to the edgegallery platform and As per the kubernetes, local port range setting for ipv4 should work by default under security context configuration.

While investigating this issue for you I have come across https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/issues/69213  Please have a look.

 

Also please share us your findings if something we could provide this as configurable for k8s during edgegallery deployment point of view. Thanks

Please change the file name to lowercase letters,  eg: nginxdemo.yaml, Then you need to delete Pod from the file because no spec. 

We have checked it  in EdgeGallery v1.5, and it is running ok
